Every Wednesday night in May and June, Avenida Houston will be transformed for free concerts; showcasing local and regional artists for free! Concerts will take place in front of the George R. Brown Convention Center along Avenida Plaza from 7-9 pm. Two groups will perform each night, along with activities and more! Drink specials start at 5! 

104.1 KRBE will be live from Party on the Plaza every Wednesday starting at 5:30 pm.
Be sure to get to Avenida Houston early to enjoy games and meet the DJs.

Los Skarnales w/ Muddy Belle

Allen Oldies w/ Ruby and the Reckless

The Allen Oldies Band started delighting audiences in 1996 at their debut gig at the Astrodome, and continued to make the world more fun for 50/60's rock and roll fans. Past highlights include multiple mentions in the New York Times and many performances at SXSW. Ruby and the Reckless bring a smooth rock feel, fiddle-driven and dance-worthy music to the stage.

Mango Punch! brings high-energy dance music in Spanish and English; one of the widest variety of musical styles in Texas. Gio Chamba is a tropical fusion duo from Houston, fronted by Gio and Coffee Guzman. Their signature Chamba sound will make you get up and dance!

Nick Gaitan w/ Nico Diaz

Nick Gaitan heads up the local Umbrella Man, a quintessential Houston band that mixes and matches a variety of Gulf Coast genres that find a musical home in this region. The group's thumping bass, bright reedy accorion and ringing steel guitar blend in surprising but always-recognizable ways. Country, rockabilly, zydeco and conjunto are all a part of the sound and song writing, and the swinging, dance-oriented traditions that infuse their repertoire. Nico Diaz creates a jazzy kind of Latin rock that carries clear influences from Latin Folk and Nova Trova.

Brownout w/ Vodi

Nine-piece psychedelic Latin-funk collective Brownout hails from Austin, Texas, and has been providing hardcore grooves and breakbeats for the dance floor since 2003. Recently gaining widespread notoriety for their Brownout Presents Brown Sabbath Project, they return this year with an EP of brand new original material sure to break it down. Vodi is a six-piece indie rock band based out of Houston, featuring ambient keys, driving rhythms, effortless hooks and a nostalgic sound.
